Individual Therapy for Anxiety, Trauma, & Relationship Patterns

If you’re feeling stuck in anxiety, overthinking, self-doubt, or repeating the same messy patterns in relationships, even after trying therapy before, you’re not broken or alone. For many people, relational trauma comes from early experiences of feeling unseen, unsafe, or unsure in relationships, and it continues to shape how you think, feel, and relate today. It shows up as a racing mind, constant comparison, perfectionism, relationship doubt, or snapping at the people you care about most when you’re overwhelmed.

It can also show up as chasing goals that never quite feel satisfying, feeling blocked or disconnected from your creativity, or constantly pushing yourself without ever feeling at ease. You may be successful on the outside, yet feel tense, unsure, or like you’re always trying to prove something.

Understanding why this happens hasn’t been enough to change how it feels in your body or how it plays out in your life. Individual therapy at Embodied With Aloha is designed to support real, felt change, not just more insight.

When self-awareness
hasn’t been enough

About embodied with aloha

Highly self-aware but still stuck, you understand your patterns, yet they keep repeating

You don’t have to resonate with everything, this just gives a sense of who our services may be for:

What Individual Therapy Can Support

Navigating messy relationships, dating dynamics, or emotionally unavailable partners that leave you confused, anxious, or second-guessing yourself and your responses

Relationship doubt, second-guessing, or constantly questioning whether a relationship is “right”

Feeling anxious, emotionally reactive, or overwhelmed by even small stressors

Struggling with perfectionism, self-criticism, or pressure to “get it right”

Impacted by past relational experiences that still shape how you show up today

High-functioning on the outside while feeling tense, disconnected, or exhausted inside

Wanting to move forward with your passions or creativity, but feeling blocked, hesitant, or held back by anxiety or self-doubt

There is real healing in being truly seen during difficult moments, especially the ones you’ve learned to carry quietly. While parts of you may protect against uncomfortable emotions, your body still holds the stories. A tight chest after rejection. A knot in your stomach during conflict. The urge to shut down or push harder when things feel uncertain. In individual therapy, we gently pay attention to these moments without forcing or fixing.

Together, we notice difficult emotions, long-held beliefs like “I’m not enough,” or realizations about your work or relationships that no longer feel aligned. Rather than imposing interpretations, we support you in discovering and integrating what comes up in your own time, within a space rooted in safety and trust.

Therapy with us often includes tangible action steps during sessions and in between. This might look like practicing a difficult conversation, sending a vulnerable text, asking out your crush, creating the podcast you’ve been thinking about, cleaning, or wearing a new daring outfit. When emotional processing is paired with real-life experiences, your body and nervous system begin to gather new evidence. Without that, insight can stay theoretical, and forcing yourself to “think positive” can feel disconnecting rather than healing.

Over time, insight becomes something you feel and live, not just something you understand. This work supports more ease, clarity, and confidence in your relationships, creativity, and daily life.

Where do sessions take place?

FAQ'S

Sessions take place in person in Waimea (Kamuela) on the Big Island of Hawaiʻi at 65-1231 Opelo Rd. Kamuela, HI 96743. We also offer sessions virtually for women and couples who are living in Hawaiʻi, Pennsylvania, or Montana.

Can you help me if I do not identify as a female?

Absolutely! You do not need to be or identify as female to work with us. Our speciality is in working with women, those who identify as female, trans women, non-binary folks and members of the LGBTQ+ community.

What is telehealth?

Sessions are offered virtually via teletherapy to women and couples in Pennsylvania, Montana, and Hawaii. We use a secure HIPAA platform (Zoom) to conduct these video sessions which you can access on your computer, tablet, or phone.

Do you take insurance?

We are in network with Mountain Health CO-OP (MT COOP) insurance and Aetna insurance for those in Pennsylvania and Montana. See questions regarding Out-Of-Network Insurances and Courtesy Billing for more information.

What are your rates and length of sessions?

Our rates are $175 per individual session and $200 per couples session. Session length may vary depending on the type of service provided and clinical considerations.  We offer Courtesy Billing for those with Out-of-Network insurances. Many clients get up to 60-70% reimbursement of session cost. See questions regarding Out-Of-Network Insurances and Courtesy Billing for more information.

What are Out-of-Network benefits?

Out-of-network benefits mean that your insurance plan may still help cover the cost of therapy with us even if we are not directly contracted with your insurance company, depending on your specific plan.

Many of our clients receive approximately 60–70% of the session cost reimbursed through their out-of-network benefits, though reimbursement amounts vary by plan.

To make this easier, we offer Courtesy Billing, meaning we can submit claims on your behalf so you don’t have to navigate insurance reinbursement on your own.

How do I check my Out-of-Network benefits?

Insurance can feel confusing and overwhelming, especially if you’ve never used Out-Of-Network Benefits before. You’re not alone in this, and we’re happy to help.

Option 1: We can check for you
If you’d like support, we’re happy to check your out-of-network benefits on your behalf!
To do so, simply reach out to us at anna@embodiedwithanna.com as well as complete our contact form

Please include:
  • A clear photo of your insurance card (front and back)
  • Your date of birth
  • Your home address

If you are covered under a spouse or parent’s insurance, please also include:
  • Their full name
  • Their date of birth
  • Their home address

Once we have this information, we can help you better understand your Out-Of-Network benefits and potential reimbursement.

Please note: We are able to provide estimations only. While these estimates are typically very accurate, they are not a guarantee of reimbursement. Final reimbursement decisions are made by your insurance company.

Option 2: Check on your own
You can contact your insurance company directly by calling the member services number on the back of your insurance card or by logging into your online insurance portal.
When speaking with your insurance provider, you may want to ask:
  • What is my out-of-network deductible for outpatient mental health?
  • Is this deductible separate from my in-network deductible?
  • How much of my out-of-network deductible have I met this year?
  • What is my out-of-network coinsurance for outpatient mental health, or at what rate will I be reimbursed for out-of-network services?
  • Do I need a referral from an in-network provider to see an out-of-network therapist?

You can also ask how your plan reimburses for the following therapy billing codes:
  • 90837 – Individual therapy (approximately 60 minutes)
  • 90834 – Individual therapy (approximately 45 minutes)
  • 90847 – Couples or family therapy

Please note: Asking these questions and receiving benefit information does not guarantee reimbursement. Reimbursement amounts, eligibility, and timing are determined by your insurance plan.

What is Courtesy Billing and how does it work?

Courtesy billing is a service we offer to make using your out-of-network insurance benefits as simple as possible.
We use a platform called Thrizer to submit insurance claims on your behalf, so you don’t have to manage insurance paperwork or follow up with your insurance company.

When you use Thrizer:
  • You securely enter your credit card information for session payments
  • You also enter your bank account information so insurance reimbursements can be sent directly to you
  • If your plan includes out-of-network benefits, reimbursements are typically deposited directly into your bank account, often within a few weeks (timing varies by insurance plan)

Thrizer Pay Option:
Thrizer may offer an option called Thrizer Pay, which allows you to pay only your estimated responsibility at the time of the session instead of paying the full session fee upfront, and waiting for insurance reimbursement. Thrizer covers the estimated insurance portion directly and applies it to the session. A 5% processing fee applies if you choose this option.

Please note:
  • Courtesy billing and Thrizer services do not guarantee reimbursement
  • We are able to provide estimates only; while typically very accurate, final reimbursement amounts are determined by your insurance plan
  • Reimbursements are sent directly to you, not to the practice

If you have any questions about courtesy billing or Thrizer, we’re always happy to help walk you through it.

What is the cancellation policy?

We ask that clients cancel or reschedule at least 24-hours in advance. Each client is allowed one late cancellation or no-show without charge.

If a client misses more than one session without adequate notice, the full session fee will be charged to the card on file for the missed appointment. This policy is outlined in your informed consent documentation.

This is a strict policy so that we can mutually respect one another’s time and ensure availability for all clients. Exceptions may be made for medical or family emergencies at our sole discretion and is not guaranteed.

LIVE LIFE IN FULL BLOOM

Together, we’ll quiet the inner fight and help you bloom into the love and safety you’ve always deserved. You are not too much. You are beautifully, perfectly you.
